LTI Hosts FCSI C&U Symposium in Athens, GA

October 16, 2018

Last week, LTI hosted 17 consultants and presenters for a Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) College and University Symposium at the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens. Kicking off the event was a student panel who let the audience know what they’re looking for in dining services. Valuable feedback from the three students, Menna Abo-Elhamd, Olivia Fassino and Pavan Suryadevara, included their love of custom made-to-order options and the importance the atmosphere, architecture and overall vibe plays in the dining experience. Consultants were given a behind-the-scenes tour of UGA’s Bolton Hall and learned from UGA’s leadership dining team, Bryan Varin, Art DiFrancesco, Susan Van Gigch, the successes and challenges of this facility that feeds 6,000 to 7,000 on an average day.

The program included several professionals from the C&U world who shared their experiences from trends they’re seeing to what C&Us need from an FCSI consultant before, during and after a project. In addition to UGA, universities represented included Texas Tech University, University of Central Missouri, University of West Georgia and University of Massachusetts Amherst.
