LTI is thrilled to announce the recipient of the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) equipment grant for the 2023-2024 school year. This prestigious grant, valued at up to $30,000, has been awarded to Frederick County Public Schools in Winchester, Virginia. The grant will enable the district to enhance its school nutrition services significantly, fostering better health and academic performance among students.

The award includes a state-of-the-art Grab ‘n Go Cart and comprehensive design services, which will play a pivotal role in expanding access to school breakfast at Millbrook High School. The new Grab ‘n Go Cart will facilitate quicker service for students on their way to class, ensuring they are well-nourished and ready to learn. Additionally, the dining area at Middletown Elementary School will receive a vibrant upgrade with new signage and decorations, promoting school spirit and creating a more enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Penny Curry, school nutrition services director for Frederick County Public Schools, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Studies show students who eat breakfast are more focused, perform better academically and have fewer discipline issues.
