LTI Announces Winner of 2025 School Nutrition Foundation Equipment Grant

LTI is excited to announce that Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia has been awarded our Equipment Grant for a new Grab ‘n Go Cart, valued at up to $10,000. This grant was part of the 2025 School Nutrition Foundation Equipment Grants program, which supports school meal programs in addressing staffing, budget, and operational challenges.
Casey Dickinson, Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services, submitted the application, highlighting the impact a mobile cart would have if awarded to the district. With a cafeteria built for 600 students in 1964, Falling Creek Elementary currently has more than 840 students. While the school nutrition team has adapted to meet the nutritional needs of students, having only two compact serving lines has hampered meal service and limited the number of menu options. The new cart will provide an additional modular serving line, allowing the school nutrition team to streamline service, reduce wait time for students and support increased meal participation.
“Our main objective for the new equipment is to boost meal participation, ensuring more students have easy access to nutritious meals which can positively impact their focus, academic success and well-being,” said Dickinson. “We would also like to pilot a fresh fruit and vegetable bar and include more local produce, which is possible with an additional kiosk.”
“We’re honored to participate in the SNF Equipment Grant program again this year. This mobile cart can help encourage more students to grab a nutritious snack or meal, which ultimately impacts their health and well-being,” explained Johnnie Merchant, LTI’s VP of Sales & Marketing.
LTI, Inc. continues to demonstrate its commitment of creating environments and innovative food serving solutions that bring family, friends, and communities together.
